would love to see an Awesome Theme for Osticket1.11.7 plus – German Mod. Switched to the named version last Night and lost support for beloved AwesomeTheme.

Your version 1.10 theme also worked with German 1.10.5 Mod but the new Mod ist highly different from the original 1.11

Would be glad if you can do this.

    Hi Starcore,

I took a close look at the source code for the latest “German mod” (osTicket-1-11-0p0_free) and compared it to regular osTicket 1.11.

It helped me realize that there are a few instances where the osTicket devs had overlooked adding support for translating text.

For example, often the ‘Update’, ‘Cancel’, and ‘Reset’ buttons would have been stuck using English.

I have integrated those instances into the next osTicket Awesome release.  🙂

The German mod has a few little tweaks. For example, they change the default timezone from America/New_York to Europe/Berlin.

It also appears to have a couple significant mods:

    1. The have a mod that displays a colored icon from green to red depending on how close a ticket’s due date is.

    2. They have integrated a mod that allows tickets to me merged (a feature that isn’t included in osTicket yet).

While I have no doubt that these mods would be useful for some users, I don’t see how they are improving osTicket specifically for German nationals / Deutsche speaking users.  To me it seems that these are mods that the developers of the project happen to like.

I am not trying to be critical of the German mod. But I am curious to know what you specifically like about it.

Right now the German mod is still using osTicket v1.11 for its source. The osTicket developers have abandoned v.1.11 and are encouraging everyone to upgrade to v1.12 for security purposes. Therefore, I am definitely not interested in doing anything with the German mod at this time.

Feel free to alert me if/when they release an updated version using osTicket v1.12 code and I will take another look at their project and consider whether or not I want to integrate with it or support it in  some way.

Update:  Osticket 1.12 patch 1 released.

Hello, the main reason for the tweaks in osticket are based on the request of users of the german forum.

For me, the main reason is, that everything is translated into German and in my company are many people, who can barely speak a word of english. ( my english also isn`t the best but i think the most can understand what i want to say :-). the language files often missing some translations.  and especialy for me it is much easier to get support @ the german forum.</p>
<p>The next point are the gdpr regulations in germany … the german mod in the plus version comes officially in cooperation with osticket und must be purchased. </p>
<p>I used osticket awesome with free german 1.10 and has worked fine, since i can`t use it anymore, im missing it every day…

already Tested your 1.12 R4 Theme, its not working correctly. if you want the get the data of 1.12p1 Plus, just ask.

hopefully the work four you isn`t too much and we can get an awesome theme with support for the german mod.

I will take some advertising in the german forum if a Theme will be released maybe you can get some new customers.

Thank you for the info. I’m still thinking about what to do about this, and I reached out to Jens (the creator of the German version) to see if he would be open to a cross-promotion and/or profit sharing arrangement.

The issue isn’t with osTicket Awesome specifically. The issue is that osTicket implemented a new system for displaying Ticket Queues. Although it looks almost identical the code is very different. And they broke the translations for many words in every language.

But please take a look at this page for a temporary solution to restore German translations in osTicket Awesome:

    I hope this helps.

please do not misunderstand, I know that your theme works and it is only due to the German version. when it still worked with the german version i loved it and now i miss it, if only because of the responsiveness … jens implemented the desired functions of the german users, which were previously only available as plugins and then became the current version  1.14p4

I’m happy that some movement comes into play. in addition to the posts on the current version, there are also more interested osticket users in the german forum. I do not know from what number of customers the effort pays off for you but if something permanent comes out, it would be great. I’ll test your workaround. thank you for your effort.
