In reply to: Upgrade Osticket to stable version
August 6, 2019 at 8:42 am #4879stevland
KeymasterHi AdvisorIT,
Assuming that you have your osTicket Awesome installation in a directory named /support…
- If you are using /osta/user-styles.css, back it up.
- Back up /include/ost-config.php
- Download the latest version of osTicket Awesome and unzip it on your local computer
- Upload the contents of the upload folder, overwriting the contents of /support
- Replace /osta/user-styles.css and /include/ost-config.php
- Review the Troubleshooting tip if you run into any glitches

KeymasterHola,
Asegúrese de que la carpeta /uploads se pueda escribir.
sudo chmod 775 /osta/uploadsLo sentimos, actualmente no hay ninguna opción para cambiar el tamaño del texto en osTicket Awesome.

KeymasterWait… I was over thinking it.
One can simply add something like this to /osta/user-styles.css in osTicket Awesome for 1.10.6:
a.Icon.Ticket.preview b,
a.Icon.emailTicket.preview b,
a.Icon.phoneTicket.preview b,
a.Icon.webTicket.preview b,
a.Icon.otherTicket.preview b {
font-weight: 700;
font-size: 10px;
font-family: 'Open Sans', sans-serif;
color: #004d73;
}This will alter the Ticket Number text, which is how “Reply Waiting” is indicated in osTicket 1.10.x. You can change the font size, color, etc. as desired.
This will also work in osTicket Awesome for 1.10.7 when it is released.

KeymasterHi @purpletree,
Are you sure you don’t mean 1.10.6? I haven’t released anything for 1.10.7 yet.
Unfortunately, the code I provided above won’t work on 1.10.6 and I can’t seem to come up with an elegant solution for you.
I highly recommend that you upgrade to 1.12.x!
osTicket 1.12 core has a lot of great new features and on osTicket Awesome’s side that is where all of the new development is happening.
I am, however, working on a 1.10.7 release (although I’m not even sure anyone is interested in it). I will see if I can add the bold text function back into the mix.
Please let me know if you decide to upgrade to 1.12.x so I don’t spend extra time on 1.10.7 needlessly. Cheers.

KeymasterHi it-support,
I don’t know what happened. It is really weird that your post disappeared.
On my end, deleting a post is a two-step process, so I definitely didn’t remove it.
Thanks for posting the email response, @techcare. I’ll clean it up a bit:
I can confirm the issue. It can happen when you copy & paste an image into the editor which is already stored in the DB. To reproduce:open a ticket
move to HTML editor (add message / internal note)
write some text
copy & paste image into editor
wait until progress icon & bar are gone
check osTicket DB table ost_file last inserted row is your image (not necessary to check it – it’ll be there…)
now comes the strange part: sometimes (not always, but often), when you just inserted the image, it does not appear in the editor’s box.. even more strange: if you don’t move the cursor and just redo pasting (and wait for progress icon / bar) the image then appears (at least as generic thumbnail which becomes the image when you switch to HTML and back)
when point 7 happens as described (and you do pasting image again) the error #1062 is logged (but the image is in place)Now, techcare is right when he is pointing to PHP version: in PHP 5.6.40 I can’t produce any of these issues. But even with PHP 7.1.8 (which should be supported since 1.11) I’m having them (massivly).Our users / agents do (nearly) never use the “Insert Image”-Button since most of the images are just small parts of a screenshot (and it’s a long way to save & upload instead of just copy (using snipping tool) & paste). If anyone has an idea how to fix the problems I’d take it…In reply to: display problem search box and annotations in mobile view

KeymasterHi @visimitra,
Thank you for your report.
The first issue will be fixed in the next release. For now please add the following code to /osta/user-styles.css:
@media screen and (max-width: 760px) {
.input.attached .button.attached {
display: none;
}
}I will also look into the second issue and come up with a fix soon.

KeymasterP.S. I understand that you are using osTicket Awesome on your intranet, but your local network really doesn’t have internet access?

KeymasterI’m sorry guys. I’ve considered what this would entail and it isn’t a feature that I can support right now. But I have added it to my list of future considerations.
@ict-support if you really need to expand osTicket Awesome’s offline functionality and want my assistance in setting it up for you, this would fall within custom coding. Feel free to contact me at info@osticketawesome.com to discuss requirements and cost.

KeymasterHi @purpletree,
Reply Waiting Indicator
It was felt early on that the bold text to denote a ticket with a reply waiting in osTicket was too visually jarring.
In osTicket Awesome, tickets with a waiting reply have a green indicator to the left of the ticket number:

Now that you know what to look for, and once you’ve gotten used to it, you will hopefully find it adequate.
Having said that, if you want to revert back to having the bold text, you can add the following code to /osta/user-styles.css:
td.osta_subject.new-reply-waiting a {
font-weight: bold !important;
}Ticket Source Icon
I’m not sure what you need by “w” and “@” indicators. It sounds like you are referring to the ticket source icons, so I will proceed to reply with that assumption. Let me know if I’ve misunderstood.

The ticket list packs a ton of information in a very condensed amount of space. Early on in the development of osTicket Awesome the ticket source icons were deemed to be unnecessary. This is the first time that anyone has even remarked on the fact that they are missing. I unfortunately have to tell you that it is very unlikely that this function will ever be added back to the ticket list.
You probably realize this already, but you can still find the ticket source information within the ticket view page:

I hope this is adequate for your needs. I’ll mark this as resolved for now, but feel free to reply.In reply to: Translation italian

KeymasterHi @netsi,
Please upgrade to the latest release (osTicket-1.12.2-Awesome-101). As you can see in the demo, the issue with the Italian translations has been fixed!

KeymasterThank you for the detailed report, @it-support@lindner-esskultur.de. I didn’t realize that one could copy and paste from the Windows Snipping Tool into osTicket… very useful (when it works)!
In any event, I did run into the same issue while testing in my demo for vanilla osTicket v1.12.2:

Therefore, this is an osTicket core issue—not an osTicket Awesome issue. Please report it in the osTicket Forum or, better yet, open an issue on GitHub.

KeymasterHi @visimitra,
As this is an issue with osTicket — not osTicket Awesome — it is out of my purview.
Generally I would say to report it in the osTicket Forum, or to open an issue on GitHub. But I went ahead and did so myself.

KeymasterHi AdvisorIT,
I overlooked your post, I apologize for the delayed response.
I want to make sure that I understand you correctly. Are you receiving the database error as a result of attempting to copy and paste an image into a ticket?
As far as I know, it isn’t possible to copy and paste an image into the text editor. BUT attempting to do so shouldn’t produce a database error either. So I’m confused.

- What happens when you use the Insert Image button?
- PHP 7.3.7 is a little cutting edge. You may want to consider dropping down to a version is the 7.0 range.
- Are you using any plugins?
