    @omniksolar,

    I’m sorry for your trouble!

There are two ways to fix this. Either download and install osTicket-Awesome-1.10.1-v1.4 again (it has been fixed), or simply create two empty files:

    osta/inc/back-button.html
    osta/inc/database-reset-warning.html

If those two empty files are in place then PHP won’t spit up any more errors.

In case you are wondering, those files are used in the DEMO version but are intentionally blank in the official release.

Thank you for pointing out my mistake, @aeromarine.

There was some accidental cross-pollination between my development files and the demo files.

In case you are wondering, the intention is to leave those references in /include/client/footer.inc.php but to have two empty files:

    osta/inc/back-button.html
    osta/inc/database-reset-warning.html

It sounds like you have already fixed the problem on your end, and it is a perfectly good solution so kudos to you for figuring it out and sharing your solution.

    Hi Trevor / joncoux,

As promised I will be releasing a new version (v1.4) in the next 2 – 3 weeks which will return the ability to use a user-selected logo image.

Regarding the issue with saving Custom Text, another customer ran into the same thing and realized the the .txt files had somehow become read-only.

Assuming you have osTicket installed into a directory called /support, on a Linux server the solution will look something like this:

    # chmod -R +w /support/osta/themes/css

Instructions for setting read/write permissions on IIS servers can be found here:

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-ca/help/816117/how-to-configure-web-permissions-for-web-content-in-internet-informati

Yikes… I’m sorry, I did not see this post until now.

Are you still having this issue? I haven’t seen this before. I would need to have a look at your SCP in order to figure out what is going on. If you would like me to resolve this for you I will need you to create a temporary agent account (Admin Panel > Agents > Add New Agent) using info@osticketawesome.com.

Ah, good work @kkrumm. Thank you for your help! That eliminates the possiblity that @aeromarine’s missing button is related to running on an IIS server.

    @aeromarine
, have you tried visiting the profile page in Chrome and open Dev Tools > Console and see if there are any errors?

    Hi Filippo,

Sorry for the incredible delay in responding.

So the “funny character” is meant to be part of a language icon. I agree that it isn’t a perfect solution as there doesn’t (yet) seem to be a universally-recognized icon for “language”. But this is the idea:

    https://www.google.ca/search?rlz=1C1GCEA_enCA778CA778&ei=_nYhW_-WBoXm9APr5IP4Bw&q=language+icon&oq=language+icon&gs_l=psy-ab.3..0i67k1j0i7i30k1l6j0j0i7i30k1j0.105546.106536.0.106707.8.8.0.0.0.0.94.624.7.7.0….0…1c.1.64.psy-ab..1.7.617…0i10k1.0.uc1hyXxAXGU

And BTW, although osTicket Awesome only supports the languages that osTicket supports, I have gone ahead and added a Swedish flag. It will be included in the next update (v1.4) which will be released in the next 2 or 3 weeks.

Thanks for pointing that out, Thomas. The download is working properly now in Firefox.

Regarding the piping of emails, let me back up and ask you a question:

Were you using this feature before? Or are you trying to use it for the first time?

Hey @kkrumm this is what it should look like:

    https://osticketawesome.com/1.10.1/scp/profile.php

The button below the picture allows the user to create a new random composite. It is kind of like playing a slot machine. This is in lieu of using a profile picture through Gravatar.

Do you still have a vanilla osTicket installation on your server? If yes, would you mind looking at your profile page in the vanilla osTicket and letting me know if the button shows up or not? Thanks!

Whoa… you’ve modified osTicket’s core functionality. Aside from that I have no clue what you did, how you figured it out or what potential ramifications you may experience as a result. BUT I’m glad that you found a solution! 🙂

This is probably already apparent to you, but in case you haven’t thought of it…

Keep in mind that if/when you update osTicket / osTicket Awesome you will have to recode this hack.

    All the best!

Sorry for the delayed response, Thomas.

It sounds like you are having another, unrelated issue. Let’s focus on that first.

Please post a screenshot of your osTicket Awesome in Firefox and/or send the URL of your help desk.

    You are correct, @aeromarine.

The Admin Panel link is not available in mobile by design. It would be far too much work to attempt to make all of the admin pages mobile friendly. I also don’t feel that there is a great need to access those pages using a mobile device.

My intention with osTicket Awesome is for the end user to still perform admin tasks using a desktop or laptop.

The website used to say “You can access most of osTicket’s core functionality from your smartphone” or something like that. I just reviewed the site and I now realize that text must have gotten lost in the shuffle when I redesigned the site recently. I will have to consider adding it back.

Long story short I apologize if you feel mislead in any way, but I do not foresee being able to modify the admin settings in osTicket Awesome by default.

Having said that… there is a hacky way to get to the admin settings in a pinch.

Using Chrome on your mobile device go to the settings menu and select Desktop. You can then temporarily use your osTicket Awesome installation without the mobile enhancements.

    I hope this helps.
